Process re-engineering is the key to AI success
Artificial intelligence (AI) is not a quick fix for all organisational problems. And no, AI isn’t simply going to take over all jobs either. The reality is far more nuanced – and far more hopeful. AI is not so much changing the nature of the jobs that exist, but rather how we carry out those jobs.

Given the rapid developments in AI, it is important to start preparing for these changes now. Anyone who leaves it too late to focus on redesigning their processes will eventually be overtaken by competitors or entirely new players.
The myth of disappearing jobs
The debate about AI and work often centres on the question: which jobs will disappear? But that is the wrong question. Recent research by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) shows that between 50 and 55 per cent of all jobs will undergo significant changes in their nature over the next two to three years, whilst only 10 to 15 per cent will disappear entirely.

The message is clear: jobs aren’t disappearing, they’re changing. And that calls for a different approach.
Why exercise alone isn’t enough
In its 2026 ‘State of AI in the Enterprise’ report, consultancy firm Deloitte shows that 53 per cent of organisations are working on broad AI advocacy and 48 per cent on retraining and upskilling. Yet only 30 per cent are actually undertaking a genuine redesign of their organisation based on new patterns emerging from AI.

Herein lies the problem: anyone who trains staff to use AI tools without redesigning the work processes around them is simply giving them new tools for an unchanged workflow. Productivity gains will then remain limited, and frustration will grow because the promised results fail to materialise.
Making a real difference: process redesign
The organisations that are really going to make a difference are not those with the best tools or the most training hours. They are the organisations that have the courage to ask what work should look like in three years’ time – and are already working towards that goal.
That means:
Not just learning to work with AI, but learning how to redesign processes so that AI can be truly effective.
Not just implementing tools, but adapting workflows so that technology and people work together optimally.
Not waiting for change, but taking steps now to stay ahead of the curve.
Learn how to redesign processes for AI
At TIMAF, we understand better than anyone that the key to success with AI lies in Business Process Management (BPM). BPM is a discipline that provides a framework for identifying, discovering, analysing, optimising, simulating and monitoring processes.
BPM helps organisations to take a fresh look at their processes and optimise them – or even radically transform them – in order to make the most of the opportunities offered by AI. The future of work is not a question of whether AI is coming, but how we deal with it. Don’t wait for change to happen to you – take control.
