TIMAF update

November 2008 we sent out the first ‘Call for Best Practices’. Being a brand new initiative, with a rather holistic approach, we didn’t expect the many positive reactions and even spontaneous contributions to this new effort of creating a framework for information management. We received proposals from experts and practitioners across the globe in several sub disciplines and from various organizations. This enthusiasm and positive response confirmed our believes that the times are there for building a framework for information management.
One half year later, in May 2009 at the Jboye09 event in Philadelphia, PA (USA), when we presented TIMAF the first time to a group of peers, the 5 Basic Principles lead to a very inspiring discussion among some thought leaders in the market. We all promised to keep this discussion alive and to pick it up at a next occasion.
At TIMAF we are building an environment for the discourse around information management, both on paper and online. With a website, a LinkedIn Group and especially a Wiki we provide online means to share experiences and thoughts with information management peers across the globe. The paper publications form a library around information management and help us to reach a broader audience.
We plan to publish a Best Practices edition every year.
We’ll keep you posted!
